Frozen moments in time
Shape versus contrast. Light versus darkness. These are just examples of what I want to capture. A certain mood. Feelings. A brief moment in time.
Black and white
The absence of color.
By removing the distractions of color, the photos often become much more powerful. By limiting the amount of information that reaches the eye, each shade and curve becomes more important . Every little shade and contrast forces the mind to fill in the blanks. This way, photos engage the brain and requires the viewer to actively participate in the process. Less is more.
